马可福音 6：1-29
================
1 耶穌離開那里，來到自己的家鄉；門徒也跟從他。
【niv】Jesus left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his disciples.
2 到了安息日，他在會堂里教訓人。眾人聽見，就甚希奇，說:“這人從哪里有這些事呢?所賜給他的是什么智慧?他手所作的是何等的異能呢?
【niv】When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. 'Where did this man get these things?' they asked. 'What's this wisdom that has been given him, that he even does miracles!
3 這不是那木匠嗎?不是馬利亞的兒子，雅各、約西、猶大、西門的長兄嗎?他妹妹們不也是在我們這里嗎?”他們就厭棄他(“厭棄他”原文作“因他跌倒”)。
【niv】Isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Mary's son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?' And they took offense at him.
4 耶穌對他們說:“大凡先知，除了本地親屬本家之外，沒有不被人尊敬的。”
【niv】Jesus said to them, 'Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor.'
5 耶穌就在那里不得行什么異能，不過按手在幾個病人身上，治好他們。
【niv】He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.
6 他也詫異他們不信，就往周圍鄉村教訓人去了。
【niv】And he was amazed at their lack of faith. Then Jesus went around teaching from village to village.
7 耶穌叫了十二個門徒來，差遣他們兩個兩個的出去；也賜給他們權柄，制伏污鬼；
【niv】Calling the Twelve to him, he sent them out two by two and gave them authority over evil spirits.
8 并且囑咐他們；行路的時候不要帶食物和口袋，腰袋里也不要帶錢，除了拐杖以外，什么都不要帶；
【niv】These were his instructions: 'Take nothing for the journey except a staff--no bread, no bag, no money in your belts.
9 只要穿鞋，也不要穿兩件褂子。
【niv】Wear sandals but not an extra tunic.
10 又對他們說:“你們無論到何處，進了人的家，就住在那里，直到離開那地方。
【niv】Whenever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town.
11 何處的人不接待你們，不聽你們，你們離開那里的時候，就把腳上的塵土跺下去，對他們作見證。”
【niv】And if any place will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave, as a testimony against them.'
12 門徒就出去傳道，叫人悔改；
【niv】They went out and preached that people should repent.
13 又趕出許多的鬼，用油抹了許多病人，治好他們。
【niv】They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.
14 耶穌的名聲傳揚出來。希律王聽見了，就說:“施洗的約翰從死里復活了，所以這些異能由他里面發出來。”
【niv】King Herod heard about this, for Jesus' name had become well known. Some were saying, 'John the Baptist has been raised from the dead, and that is why miraculous powers are at work in him.'
15 但別人說:“是以利亞；”又有人說:“是先知，正象先知中的一位。”
【niv】Others said, 'He is Elijah.' And still others claimed, 'He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of long ago.'
16 希律聽見卻說:“是我所斬的約翰，他復活了。”
【niv】But when Herod heard this, he said, 'John, the man I beheaded, has been raised from the dead!'
17 先是希律為他兄弟腓力的妻子希羅底的緣故，差人去拿住約翰，鎖在監里，因為希律已經娶了那婦人。
【niv】For Herod himself had given orders to have John arrested, and he had him bound and put in prison. He did this because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, whom he had married.
18 約翰曾對希律說:“你娶你兄弟的妻子是不合理的。”
【niv】For John had been saying to Herod, 'It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife.'
19 于是希羅底懷恨他，想要殺他，只是不能；
【niv】So Herodias nursed a grudge against John and wanted to kill him. But she was not able to,
20 因為希律知道約翰是義人，是聖人，所以敬畏他，保護他，聽他講論，就多照著行，并且樂意聽他(“多照著行”有古卷作“游移不定”)。
【niv】because Herod feared John and protected him, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man. When Herod heard John, he was greatly puzzled ; yet he liked to listen to him.
21 有一天，恰巧是希律的生日，希律擺設筵席，請了大臣和千夫長，并加利利作首領的。
【niv】Finally the opportune time came. On his birthday Herod gave a banquet for his high officials and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee.
22 希羅底的女兒進來跳舞，使希律和同席的人都歡喜，王就對女子說:“你隨意向我求什么，我必給你；”
【niv】When the daughter of Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests. The king said to the girl, 'Ask me for anything you want, and I'll give it to you.'
23 又對她起誓說:“隨你向我求什么，就是我國的一半，我也必給你。”
【niv】And he promised her with an oath, 'Whatever you ask I will give you, up to half my kingdom.'
24 她就出去對她母親說:“我可以求什么呢?”她母親說:“施洗約翰的頭。”
【niv】She went out and said to her mother, 'What shall I ask for?' 'The head of John the Baptist,' she answered.
25 她就急忙進去見王，求他說:“我愿王立時把施洗約翰的頭放在盤子里給我。”
【niv】At once the girl hurried in to the king with the request: 'I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptist on a platter.'
26 王就甚憂愁；但因他所起的誓，又因同席的人，就不肯推辭，
【niv】The king was greatly distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he did not want to refuse her.
27 隨即差一個護衛兵，吩咐拿約翰的頭來。護衛兵就去在監里斬了約翰，
【niv】So he immediately sent an executioner with orders to bring John's head. The man went, beheaded John in the prison,
28 把頭放在盤子里，拿來給女子；女子就給她母親。
【niv】and brought back his head on a platter. He presented it to the girl, and she gave it to her mother.
29 約翰的門徒聽見了，就來把他的尸首領去，葬在墳墓里。
【niv】On hearing of this, John's disciples came and took his body and laid it in a tomb.
